American Institute of Architects, NY Chapter

Designer: Andrew Berman Architect

Aronson’s has worked closely with the American Institute of Architects – New York Chapter (AIA) for approximately 15 years. AIA is a hub for continuing education and resources to many New York metro area architects and designers. We worked with Andrew Berman Architect on a flooring revamp for the conference room, utility spaces, and administration areas, including the Executive Director’s office.

These areas received an update with a rich chocolate-colored goat hair and nylon carpet tile; a product with more luxe look and feel than typical nylon carpet tiles but still as durable. To tie it all together, we installed heavy duty walk off matting at the area’s vestibule in a neutral shade to keep outside moisture and grime from entering the building.

Cork is, by volume, 85% air. It is one of the softest resilient floors made, with the benefit of comfort underfoot. Shhhhh! All that air makes cork a great sound insulator, so you will hear less of your neighbors.
