59 John Lofts

Designer: EA Design

Collaborating with Designer Evan Ainbinder of EA Design, the 59 John Lofts Co-op Board and Building Management, the project scope included removing existing corridor carpeting and installing new carpeting on all 12 floors of the fully occupied residential building. Five Nine John Lofts is an upscale residential building in the Financial District neighborhood of New York City.

Logistics were choreographed carefully to ensure tenants were minimally affected throughout the installation process. The installation spanned a six-day period with two corridors installed per day. In order to smoothly transition the building from old carpet to new, we worked with management to maximize storage space onsite and facilitated rip up and disposal of old carpeting the night before each installation.

Aronson’s sourced an attractive and non-directional abstract design well suited to the layout of the corridors while keeping in mind long-term durability and design sensitivity. We think the pattern selected comes to life beautifully in the space.

“… thank you for the personal attention and courtesy extended to us. You allowed us the latitude to make those time consuming decisions that are always needed in selecting carpets for a building of this size. Our tenants are extremely pleased with the end results. We would be remiss if we did not mention the skills of the carpet installers. They were conscientious craftsmen who completed the job in an extremely skillful and professional manner. If they are representative of the employees you hire, you certainly are doing it right.” -Todd Matras, Board President, Five Nine John Lofts
