Solar Design For Commercial Buildings

Presenter: Jean-Pierre Clejan, NABCEP, IGSHPA

Overview: Gain an intimate knowledge about using currently available methods that today’s practitioner can utilize to incorporate renewable energy into their commercial projects. This course will discuss how current regulations and the global energy situation can be used as a tool to make these projects move forward sustainably.

Mr. Clejan will describe the relationship between room layout, building envelope and building orientation and a truly integrated energy system design. See the advantages of Renewable energy through the analysis of actual energy use. Commercial case studies will be reviewed.

Jean-Pierre Clejan received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Science degree from the California Institute of Technology. He develops and installs solar and geothermal ground-source heat pump systems in the lower Tri-State area to reduce the carbon footprint and operating costs of commercial and residential construction projects. Jean-Pierre enjoys working with design professionals, developing zero energy or near-zero energy buildings.
